Fork Lift Truck Medical Doncaster
Do you need a medical to drive a forklift?
Employers require a medical from forklift operators to confirm their suitability for the job. You can gain a Forklift Medical Doncaster from Barnetby Private Medicals if required.
The medical requirement can be requested by the employer during job application process or during employment. The forklift operators need to undergo medical if the employer advises them to do that.
If you drive a forklift and a medical is undertaken it should be completed to group 1 driver standard (cars) or for more strenuous activities (driving FLTs at night or transporting hazardous waste) group 2 standard, that of a HGV/PCV driver.
We provide our medicals to the higher group 2 standard for no additional cost so you can be sure your medical covers you for all forms of forklift driving. Our Doctor will provide a certificate of fitness subject to you passing your medical.
You can refer to the guidance on HSE for reference.
What is Involved In Your Medical?
The rising number of employers who now require workers to undergo a medical examination before driving a forklift is due to an increase in regulations and a need for all workers on site to be physically and mentally fit.
Our Doctors provide you with a thorough examination and a certificate of medical fitness signed and dated showing you reach the medical standard required, which is accepted by all employers. Your medical examination will involve:
- Vision Assessment
- Blood Pressure Readings
- Questions regarding Medical History
When you complete your examination our Doctor will provide you with your certificate of medical fitness (subject to the outcome of the medical) valid from the date you pass your medical examination, as well as indicate how long it is valid for which depends on our Doctor’s findings during the medical.
