COVID Update: Safety Procedures

  • All staff wear masks, face shields, and gloves supplied from an accredited medical supplier .
  • All staff have been tested with the antibody virus test and are negative.
  • Only clients who have made appointments will be seen.
  • Clients are advised not to come if they are ill in any way!
  • Temperature using a non contact thermometer will be taken if any doubt!
  • On arrival, the client must wait outside to be called in at the appointed time and when the last client has already left.
  • Only one client is allowed in at a time.
  • They will be offered a mask if not already wearing one and asked to use the hand sanitiser available on the desk.
ABOUT OUR COVID UPDATE

In order to reduce the risk of the spreading of viruses such as COVID-19, and any other coronavirus’ Barnetby Medical Centre in Brigg, North Lincolnshire is now operating a full telephone service to all patients.

Please DO NOT attend the GP Surgery unless you have spoken to a member of staff on the phone first, and have received instructions to visit the practice. If any patient is suffering from the following symptoms, such as mild cough, fever, loss of taste and smell, and fatigue, you must stay at home for self isolation for two weeks. We will also contact you personally if any of the medical staff are also planning a self isolation period due to contacting the COVID virus.

COVID UPDATE
  • There is no use of the waiting room.
  • The client will be taken into each room for the various aspects of the medical using a one way system and will not be near any other clients.
  • Hand sanitiser will be provided and expected to be used in each room.
  • Most of the procedures are doing at a safe distance including the discussion, eye testing , height and weight (client using the electronic printer scales). BP (client puts on the cuff of the electronic monitor), breathing (using a machine with printer) and hearing tests etc.
  • The Dr (wearing PPE equip) will examine if needed.
  • The toilet (if needed), has elbow taps for non-contact washing of hands.
  • Fresh gloves will be supplied again.
